AWD light flashing
The AWD warning light on my '90 Aerostar starts flashing after about 90 minutes at freeway speeds. This coincides with vibration felt through the floor boards. What do 4 flashes signify?

4 flashes means there is a discontinuity (open circuit) with either the rear output speed sensor or the circuit for that sensor. Check pins 9,10 and 11 for continuity between the computer and the sensor as well as the sensor itself. It sounds like the problem may be the sensor going open after it gets hot, but don't overlook the wiring and connectors. Until you figure it out, you might want to inplug the 4WD computer.
