trailer wire hookup

My son and I have 99 v10 super dutys , here is the problem , when hooked to trailers the left turn and brake light will not work, but when the same trailers hooked to chevys or dodges they work fine . Did ford have a different wiriing setup ? Fred

Check fuses for the trailer circuts. I think they are under the hood...Look in your owners manual..

yep, under hood fuse box (in front of master cylinder) should be fuse #1, trailer tow left stop/turn lamp

what would cause a fuse to blew. i blew 4 or 5 fuses in the past 4 months hooked to the same trailer

Awire touching metal somewhere...Corrosion behind a bulb ...Just look around!

A poor ground wire casusing ground to be the trailer tongue and high resistance causes the light circuit to draw too many amps for the system blowing the fuse. And of course everything 99f350sd said.
