Smile Hey all!

Thought I'd post a big 'O HELLO to yall,

I'm a new member here and just would like to say this is a real great site.
I have found alot of very usefull info here... not to mention the humor....lol

I am the proud owner of a 2001 F-350 crew/7.34x4DRW Lariat and soon to be owner of a 1960 F-100.(i think its a F-100)

The 60' F-100 is the main reason I'm posting tonight....lol. I made a decision to fix her up and make something of her.

Its got the wrap around window style , but the back window is a snap on with small plastic window in middle. It also has adjustable lights on both sides of cab just above side mirrors,, I noticed it has 4 tail lights ,Oh and has the engine and tranny in the back of the bed... I was told its a 460 out of a 69 Lincoln and a C-6 tranny with 250miles on it... I have yet to see.. the truck also has custom rims....I'll have to post some pictures up for yall to see...as soon as I buy it...lol

The owner has told me there were 2000 of these trucks made, but I dont know....

Anyways, theres my post and I look forward to sharing any info and help....

Oh,.. and I'm not much of a mechanic,.... (general contractor) .. but would love to have a little hobbie on the side and I think this truck is it. As soon as I get the vin, I'll have no make a trip over to the registration post...8)

I look forward to chat'n with ya....

Jaymo,

Sounds like a nice project! This is the place for help if you want it. Glad to see another old Ford truck resurected...

Jaymo...

Welcome. You will find a wealth of information here (some of it will actually be correct ) Seriously, there are some pretty sharp people hanging around here. When you hit that "snag" (and you will)...that one little problem you just can't seem to figure out...throw it out here. Odds are someone else has already been through it. If they can't help you solve it....they will sometimes offer some sympathy. Good luck!

...Clarence

Jaymo, if I remember correctly, there were 130,000 total Ford trucks produced in the 1960 model year.

That aside, you're making a good decision .. the '60s are really fun, great-looking trucks. If for some reason you ever need a comparison of stock vs. the mods already done to your truck, check my gallery. My truck is all original except for the color scheme and the sound system. And the tires, if you really want to be picky.

I'm sure a lot of us would like to know more about the current condition of the truck and your plans for it. Best of luck.

I'll agree with kooper, they are really fun, great looking trucks! When you said wrap around window, were you talking about the windsheild? Because if its a big back window with the description you said, then I'm going to have to see it! Sounds like somebody has modified the truck quite a bit. Make sure what ever they did is reversible! -4speed

Welcome, I'm a mechanical contractor, I'll overlook the general contractor part, as long as you honor the Blue Oval.

Thanks for the warm welcomes......

As soon as I get the pink and have it towed, I'll make a post in the 1948-1960 classic truck section and post some photos. The truck has the wrap around back window and the owner couldnt find the glass awhile back so he had a snap cover made...(pretty cool).

The truck has been sit'n for 4-5 years (covered) and the tags were never paid in that time..... I was told it was registered as a commercial vehicle from previous owner and it would cost around $600-$900 for current registration. I was also told that if I register it as an antique, I might not have to pay any penaltys..... So,... will see what happens.

Thanks for your offer kooper 909, I'll surely take a look at those photos.

LOL with dlister.... sure thing bud... always a FORD man!.....8)

LOL!!!! I'm already in 1948-1960 classic truck section......hehe ok so I'll keep you all informed....8)

Woah! $900? I thought my registration at $400 was bad. Check out I-lien, they will put a mechanics lien on it and do all of the paperwork for about 20 bucks, it gets you out of all of the fees and no one has to pay anything except for 2005 tags. I live in california and I know they do that here, im not sure about other state laws though, check it out.

Nice truck btw, looks to be pretty much rust free, good find

**edit** I can't find their info, give me a bit and I'll find a phone number for ya.

Wow just when I think I've seen everything, you post your pics of the rear window! Thanks for the pics, looks like a good project. One more favor, could you get a better shot of the insturment panel? Looks like a neat engine turned piece. -4speed

Hey, post the data plate info as soon as you can, so I can record your truck in the registry. It's on the glovebox door and will look like this:

F10J0H37438
118 X F100 04C A 01
5000 126 4000

Looks like it's got lots of potential! I like that copper-colored paint inside the cab.

Have you formulated any plans for the ol' girl yet?

Well,.. I went out this morning and started to remove all the stuff in the back,... lotsa junk! was able to find the 460/heads/ 2 sets of valve covers(1 chrome)/2 carbs (1 4 barrel)/ glass pack muffler system/ C-6 trannie/various **** and dials...etc... and the engine block was already attached to an engine stand.

mr4speedford.... I think the instument panel you mentioned is some sort of sticker/decal....but im not sure, I really havent had a chance to look...I'll take some more photos and post em tomorow..

As far as the plans for her,...with a low low buget.... I figured I'd start with the engine rebuild. If I cant make the 69' 460 work then I'll have to go with something else. I would love to bore the 460

Its a hard decision for me personally, should I rebuild her stock? or build her up as a hotrod truck?.....I still dont know

For now I'll just clean up the parts I got and put em together and see what I get...lol
