Please. Try buying a new PC without Micro$oft Windows. That's why 90% of computer users use M$.

Service Pack 2 really messed things up. Had to do a system restore. I won't try it again. I'll just take my chances without it.

I would think you would need the portable version called Windows CE you can find info here You would have to check to see if your phone is supported.

Linux can definitely fit on your PCS phone, size wise, akthough I dunno if all the harware would be available, you could always write your own driver if not .

I'm hearing all kinds of probs from SP2. I'm gonna wait for a while.

One of my kids' friends told me a lot of his classmates down at college installed SP2 and had nothing but crashes, inaccessible websites, and progs that stopped running.

A buddy of mine, who asks me for computer advice all the time, finds out he can't access a lot of websites now that he installed SP2, and he needs to learn how to reset a lot of the security settings now. Some of his progs now won't run either. I told him to dump it and reformat, but I know he'll never be able to handle that.

Nope, it'll be a while before I put SP2 on any of my machines. Shoot, I'm still running 98SE on a couple, and Linux on one. I already have most of the security issues addressed w/ firewall, popup blockers, and a couple of antivirus progs.

I won't bash Micro$oft, I just won't praise them, either.

"most home users who will be at risk, run in the default administrator mode."
I am a home users administrator, Isnt my port 80 the only thing I am suposed to worry about ? granted, not knowing all as an MCP, but, still, I feel security is what it is for what it is, if you need that much from an OS, you probly shouldnt be exposing all your data anyway. Identity theft might be the bigger threat, but if it happened to me, I'd like to be the first to know. Its the theory weather to keep a locked gun case or not ! In the real world we have computers to keep us safe. In the world of computers we only have ourselves. M$ should have a suggestion box for windows commands in the future. As for what Linux does or doesnt do differently, I'd had to spend $11,000.00 (interest and tax included) to find out now wooden eye ?
My xp is still working magic for all the users here on this box we got from DAD ! Thanks DAD ! Maybe I'll buy the next ones, and make them Linux boxes just for the surprise effect. Remember, there will never be one way to do this, so, we will always have to use the same decoder rings. TTFN

well you have the choice now to install it or not but in 8 months it will be installed if you want it to or not...it will be mandatory. I've had it on many machines and not a problem at all. I had to unblock certain websites to allow popups to check some of my mail but thats all.
