My wife had her first outing alone today with all three kids since the birth of our 3rd last Thursday. Anyway she told me that when they arrived at the store she got everyone out of the truck (03 Expy) using only the doors and not doing anything with the rear hatch or glass. Then she pushed the lock button on the remote twice. For anyone who may not know pushing the lock button once locks all the doors, pushing it twice causes the horn to beep. If only one beep is heard that signals that all the doors are closed. She only heard one beep.
When she came back to the truck she unlocked it using the remote then loaded everyone in again only using the door and never going anywhere near the rear hatch. When she started the truck she got a message saying the rear hatch was open and sure enough it was. She is the primary driver of the truck and I have never been with her when it has happened but she told me today this was the 3rd or so time this has happened. There is a button on the remote that will pop the rear glass when you push it but she swears up and down she is not accidentally pushing it before pushing the unlock button.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar to this?
Oh BTW if anyone is wondering 3 car seats fit across the second row perfectly
I've had this happen to me a couple of times in both the 03 Expedition and 03 Explorer. The glass pop button on the remote is easly to press when it's in your pocket with other objects, such as keys.
