My two cents, and only guesses:
1) Failed fuel pressure regulator diaphragm (maybe)
2) One failed injector (leaks excessively when engine is turned off)
3) Failed vapor/liquid separator in the fuel tank vent system
I'd expect both Nos. 1 & 2 to affect the way that the engine runs, especially startup after being shut down for only a few minutes.
On most carbureted engines, you'd be looking at a failed fuel pump diaphragm, but that doesn't apply to yours.
Sorry that I can't explain in detail. I hope somebody else has better guesses.
