I just got a call from my dealership, I ordered 2005 Lariet 6.0 4x4, and today they were told the 18" wheels will not be available until after the first of the year. I'm guessing they are having trouble keeping up with demand, or some problem has cropped up. Anyway, does anyone know if the 17" wheel is the same style as the upgraded premium 18" wheel? I would like to know since it will affect the "looks" of the final truck.
The wheels should be the same...Check out the 2005 Superduty brocuhure...you will see pictures of the 17" wheels and 18" wheels and they are the same...
This is really strange, since I test drove an 05 with the 18" tires.

I hope that is the case. I have been wondering what tires and wheels I would purchase for the winter, I run bfgoodrich mud T/A's on the 03 in the winter (when the truck ran). BFG does not have an 18" tire that I could find, 17" were about it. The "market" has not quite caught up with this truck yet. Hopefully, I will be able to purchase some before the snow hits for good.
i have the harley edition with 18 in. wheels and if i m not mistaken BFG does make mud/terrains in 18, 35's i think..i also believe nitto or toyo do..you may want to check there websites...
they could, but maybe not updated a web site. I don't want anything bigger than stock, or next size larger. Stock is in the 32" range, up to a 33" would be ok as long as the weight rating is sufficient. i.e. load range D or E. A lot of lighter tires for the 150 class pickups come in the sizes I need or larger, but won't do much good with the weight this thing will throw around.

Might want to think about putting in your contract that you will be supplied with the originally ordered 18" wheels when they arrive for public sale..
Best of Luck,

By the way, you do know that they no longer come with a hood blanket right? One more thing, I don't know where you are from but ask if you state is supplied with a heater cord, I think only 5 states are, so if you need one you have to purchase one.

BFG makes 35 and 37 inch tires for 18 inch rims. I have the 35's now, switching to 37's in a couple months maybe. Nitto and Toyo both have them as well, but they are too wide for the stock rim.
The hood blanket from your 03 or early 04 will fit the 05 - make them give it to you. My dealer switched out mine and it took about 2 minutes - he didn't care at all.
I forgot about the hood blanket, I believe the block heater is included here in Montana. Thanks for the heads-up.
Hey Bubba,
Hate to break it to ya but you are one of the many states that does NOT receive a heater cord. All states receive the actual heater, but only Alaska, Colorado, Iowa, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, N&S Dakota, and Wyoming receive the actual cord. You will have to purchase your cord seperately if you need it. If your dealer is aware of this situation then they might have already included the price of the cord in the sale. Just something to find out about.
I will have to check on that cord!!! Unbeliveable that one of the coldest places in the nation does not qualify for a heater cord. I will also need to check on the hood blanket, and see if my dealer will switch old to new while they are switching everything else.
I live in Missouri and haven't found the cord yet - it is so hot now winter will never come! When I go home tonight where should I find it on the 05?
Hey Bubba,
Mine was behind the bumper, in a really dark spot, and zip-tied in place. I spent like 2 hours looking for it last winter, just use a good flash light and you'll find it in no time. Just remember it's a black cord, wound up pretty small, in a very dark place. They intentionally did this I think.
