I Might Have A Tank On Call
My truck was built at Norfolk in March, so they might try and get it back on recall. I hope not. If it happens, I think I will wait for the smell or the light. The reason being, that once recently I was in the dealers shop and they had the bed of a Ranger up in the air with cables. They have a special hoist that pulls the bed straight up for fuel tank removal. Really great for a new truck, that I have been taking very good care of!! You would think that Ford would get their s*** straight on fuel tanks one of these years soon.

I doubt the hoist would destroy your bed. You could do it in your garage, remove 10 bolts and get a couple chainfalls...on second thought, I'd rather have the dealer do it. The recall forces dealers to not deliver any vehicle on their lot until it is fixed...sounds like it is serious enough for me to have it done.
