88 F250 Dual Tank Fuel Gauge problem

Forgive me I am new to this truck and have never owned a Ford before.

Does anyone have any information on how I can get to the sending units on this truck? I have the dual tanks and the gauge shows full on both tanks all the time. The midship tanks is empty and will not take any fuel (a whole different problem). I have heard that you can ground the sending unit wire to see if the gauge moves but I don't see a way to the top of the tanks without removing the bed.

The Oil Pressure gauge is also working sporatically. Is there possibly a connector that anyone knows about that wires for these two gauges run through?

Any help is GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thanks.

only way to get to sending units is to remove the bed, or drop down the tanks. sizeable job either way

If you want to get to the wires for testing purposes, you can get to them from under the truck. There are four wires that go to each sender. check your chiltins manual for color codes.

the wires to the front tank should be visible right around the center of the tank (on the passenger side of the tank)

the wires going into the rear tank should be visible right above the center of the rear axle. (going back towards the tank).

I just went through this ordeal, of changing BOTH senders/pump, so feel free to ask me any questions.

If the midships tank acts empty, but won't take fuel, it is possible that the fuel pump in that tank might be bad. There is a separate pump in each tank.
