So is the ccv the cause of the oil dripping from the hot side cac tube connection at the intercooler? What keeps all of the oil from being sucked out ot the crankcase and the engine becoming a runaway?
I have to say, I don't agree with this mod. Giving up the vacuum effect to the crank case effectively gives up horsepower. It may leave a cleaner engine compartment or components, but think about this, no pressure build up in the bottom end means less oil leaks, better ring seal, and much less combustion contamination. Just my 2 cents....

Remember that the diesel has no intake vacuum in the system. The only vacuum you will get across the CCV tube is what little effect you get from the volume of air drawn by the tube...which is neglible.
Darn...major bummer. I got the nipple and checkvalve installed. However, I decided to upgrade the exhaust in the process to a MBRP 3.5" turbo to CAT and then 4" from CAT back. I placed the nipple in the section between the CAT and the muffler. Welded in at 45 degrees as directed, but the dang thing blows exhaust out the nipple instead of sucking air in. I double checked...it's positioned the right way (according to the install instructions).
The exhaust blowing past the nipple should be sucking air in according to the Bournelli (sp?) principle. I tried having my wife rev the engine to blow more air past, it just blows exhaust out the nipple harder. I'm also pretty darn sure I installed the high flow muffler the right direction too.
BTW, I discovered this problem when I noticed oil forming around the check valve. I disassembed the hose and checkvalve and determined that the exhaust was a way higher pressure than the crankcase, so the oil leaked out of the check valve because it had no where else to go.
Any ideas anyone? I'm at a loss.
i know this is late, but i remember seeing 30degrees as the magic number, not 45
I realize this site shows the CCV reroute mod(with pics) on a 7.3, still some good information that can be used on the 6.0 though along with a lot of other stuff...
