I have looked just about everywhere to get infoto decode my warranty plate and have come up empty. I have checked the archives but the only thing I came across was a comment to check the stickys. I dont know where to find the stickys in the archives. Looking to decode from a 1977 F250 club cab Explorer Vin: X25JKO64054, WB: 155, Color: P, Type/GVW: X259, Body: NUM, Trans: G, Axle: 37E 1977 53 Thanks
http://www.medicine.wisc.edu/~mrm/bronco/ftvin.cgi go here it says that you truck is a 1972????? 2 wheel drive "460ci". i know that the trans code is the same as mine. G is a "c-6". built in "Kansas City". color code P is "dark nectarine poly". what is the axel code? 37E doesn't seem right. Hope this helps.
37 is a Dana 60 5300 lb axle with a 3.54:1 ratio. The "E" designates a 3550 lb Dana-44 front axle with power steering. Does it have a tilt column, also?
I think someone replaced the column with a later model straight column as the column dash cover is the type you would find on the 80-86 model. I really was trying to find out what the Type/GVW code of X259 and Body: NUM codes meant. I know that the VIn Identification from Michael Masse at medicine.wisc.edu lists this as a 1972 but it is definately a 1977 Supercab Explorer 4x2 F250. Thanks for the help.
