Even my 460 79 Bronc doesnt like to do a burnout... one of the main culprits being the short wheelbase combined with the weight. When you stomp on it, they transfer alot of weight to the rear end. Combine that with big tires and stock 3.50 gearing, and the end result is broken parts and no burn outs

yep, thats about the half of it. they are made to drive on uneven surfaces and haul heavy things, they werent made to burn out. simple fact. plus on top of that, your tires are WAY too heavy for your engine to turn fast enough to slip on the pavement. your gearing is already making the engine lose power with the increased tire size. on top of all that, tires are way too expensive to waste doing burn outs.

Ditto to what has been said. And to add something I once read about the top speed of the Rolls Royce Corniche, "Not the kind of thing one cares about from one of these machines" Why go fast when you can just go over?

Mine can do a burn out, lol. 31s and a 302. It takes it awhile for the mud kings to start smoking, but itll do it. Ive done it once just to see if it would, it did, i smiled and have never done it again, lol. But in a way, its a good thing that it doesnt spend cause i can beat alot of ppl off the line that way.

More weight is transfered to the rear tires. Our ext. cab long bed F150 will spin the tires pretty easily.

Someone correct me on this if I'm wrong but back in the 60s tire technology wasn't to great. The NHRA boys figured out that moving the rear tires forward would give them more grip but it also made the cars look funny. And that's where the phrase "funny car" comes from. I believe it was first done on Mopars and then everyone else followed.

As it was already said, the best to use a car/truck that has a light rear end like long bed trucks. Barring that, you can install very small tires (i.e. LT215/75R15), or put some grease or oil on your rear tires. If you do the latter, make sure you burn it off, or clean it off before use it for regular driving.

Ah the AFX days make mine a t-bolt or a early falcon
Doing a burn out is EZ leave your truck in netural wind the motor up to 4,000 to 6,000 then just drop it into gear
or put the truck into reverse and stomp it then slide it into drive
just keep into mind that your gonna break somthing

I find burn outs unattainable in my Bronco, to counter this I "peel out" so to speak. Best results are obtained when pebbles or loose gravel is present on the pavement to start the pleasure of burning rubber. Or turn your front wheels and stomp it.
