I push the 9' fisher MM on my 04' F-350, V-10, it does very well,,only sags the front like 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch, like 900lbs,,this is the same plow that was installed on my 99' PSD, and at that time it was like $3,400.00 bucks installed, I think there up about $ 3,800 to 4 k now for a 9' MM,,around here installed but they are MM II setups now, alittle easier to mount I think.
same with the boss plow. you drive into it, flip a switch and the whole front end raises up and locks on the truck. same procedure to remove, you have to see it in action. sure beats getting out there in the snow and ice beating the frozen pins out!!!!! I am very happy with my boss set up, but there is something out there for everyone. the main features amongst the major brands are the same. compare the warrantys, some companies will throw in an extra year parts and labor as a selling point. doesn't hurt to ask.

I got the Curtis manly because the dealer is close and is a reputable spring shop. Also my truck is a 2000 F250 extra cab 8 foot bed with a 7.3. The Ford dealer said I shouldnt put a plow on it cause the diesel was to heavy and I should gow with a crew cab if I wanted a plow but I didnt want a CC. So I looked around and the Curtis was lighter than the Fischer so I thought I would be doing less damage to my truck
I asked for a F350 extended cab with a 8 foot bed and a diesel but they said it wasnt availible in that 2000 model year. Now I see lots of F350 trucks the same body style as mine with a diesel Is it cause the 6.0 is a lighter engine? The suspension on my truck looks identical to theirs. Can anyone tell me why they wouldnt make an F350 in my body style with a diesel in 2000?
I may be wrong but i think the 6.0 is a heavier engine.
I am not sure why an extended cab, LB diesel wasnt availible, it may have been but there was such a big demand for that type of truck that the dealer knew they wouldnt get one but told you something different.
What ever plow you go with and like anything else you get, you need a dealer that will stand behind thier product.
i bought my plow from a local equiptment company and then found out they would have to move thier plow service department to a different store about 45 minutes away. that wasnt good at all to me, in a snow story i need my plow fixed as quicke as possible. luckily another business opened to sell and service boss plows and Toro products. the owner is very nice and has helped me out alot. he and his mechanic offer advice for free, knowing i will buy everything i can from them. they are also open all night when it snows if anyone has problems and are located in the center of my plowing area. ok i am done babbling.
I'm moving to St Joe in early October. Looks like we are fairly close. If you have any thoughts on Ford dealers for service and/or plow dealers in that area I would like to hear it...
