460 Mild Build Q's

OK, Building a 460 , this is going to go in a weekend warrior and street/gentle driver (small town) I wanna run it on low octane( 87,89) (poor guy)I wanna run a mild cam without messin with my drive train (beside what you replace with cam, lifter's,maybe springs, rollerchain) I'm gona put some new pistons (thinkin speedpro mostly cause they keep the compression llower so i can run low octane still) an intake and a either 750 edel or holley (i have both) and some headers , whats the highest comp ratio i can run on 87 and or 89? what cam would yall recomend? Basicly I'm kinda lookin for maybe a build sheet I wanna run my D3's have good power but still run on low octane gas , this is gona be going (most likely) in my 69' F-100 (has warm 390 c-6) another Q (might post this in the 67-72 forum) what will i need to do to go from 390c-6 to 460-c-6?? mounts and thats it?? will the tranny bolt right up?? ok i know its alot just throw some idea's out there and we will go from there.... ( also not realy lookin to rebuild/port my heads if i decide to do that in the future i'll go with some other's like D0ve's ) alright thanks alot feller's lookin forward to buildin this motor adios

Well as far as mild build I dont realy know what to tell ya that you dont allready know? ya have headers, a nice carb,Maybe an Edel Airgap rpm intake? and as far as the swap goes, I went to L&L and got there swap mounts for 390 to 460..$212 and I think the C6 is a bolt in? I hope so? might have to go to a later C6 I dont know? That and headers is as far as I have gotten... Good luck..Russ

Ya Mudin, I could have got by going to the yard and got some from a donor? but I thought as far away as my 2 yards are here...and draging in my tools...I could sit here at the house and watch the races on The 60" and drink beer and have then delivered to me?

Shoot, I sound like Gtex, in the FE forum!! LOL! and I wanted 2" primarys but if they dont look like I can get them opened some at the port..I may just send them back?

Russ
