hey all,
i havent posted much in this forum but i got a question on my dad's expedition. its a 2000 Eddie Bauer with the 5.4L. First off we cant seem to get the rear wiper to work anymore, checked all the fuses and everything the owners manual said, and i have done everything but hook the multimeter up to it (it's at work and im at home) but we did get it all traced to what looks like a relay in the engine compartment, this is maybe blown? or has anyonme had wiring problems witht he motor coming un-plugged? i dont really wanna start tearing plastic off this rig if i don't have to, hed kill me over a scratch! and sencondly his leveling pump seems to run an extrememly long time and really really loud, at least compared to when it was new. is it just getting old and worn out or is there posibly a leak in the system causing it to run extended periods of time? any advice is hugely appreciated!
My neighbor had their rear wiper go out on their 2000 xlt and I thought they said it was the motor that had burned out (not cheap either). I don't recall if it was a recall item. As for the self-leveling system, I have a 97 and my rates of pumping to level vary, as does the noise. I carry alot of tools, but it seems to run longer without a load. Sorry I can't give you a definate answer, ...only input to share.
