I tried it search for this but the search function seems to have a mind of its own. I just bought my '98 Expy XLT 4X4 and am in the process of making sure everything is working. I noticed when I bought it that the rear wiper didn't work but that is an easy fix. However, it rained a couple of days ago and without thinking I hit the wiper switch and it worked! I replaced the wiper blade and now I can't get it to come back on. Do you guys think this is a possible connector issue on the wiper motor or just time to get a new motor? Sometimes I can hear the motor try to engage and sometimes I hear nothing at all.
Thanks for your time, it's nice to be back here after a 2 year absence.
I can't believe it, but the rear wiper will not activate until the front wiper is on. None of the other vehicles I have had with rear wipers have been like that.
That makes me feel a little better. As long as I can get them to come on when it's raining I can use it like it is til it quits completely. I'll just live with the gremlins as they are for now.
I have a simple problem - can someone link me to how to adjust the rear arm? right now my 2003 Gator has it sitting off the window, and it should be straight across.
I haven't had to do it, but there is a cap over the hinge area that pops off and under that is a nut. I'd assume that nut is holding the arm on a spline so if you loosen it you can move it one spline over.
Similar to the link alloro sent you, I have someone turn the wipers on inside and I hold the wiper assembly and push at the same time.
That bushing will stick and hold the shaft from moving. Once you break the resistance as noted, mine works again until long periods of it sitting still.
The get a bigger hammer approach, but it works.

I had that with my 2001 after I replaced the wiper motor. Turn the rear wiper off, remove the cover at the hinge, take off the bolt, slide the arm off of the splines and put it back aligned properly. If it keeps happening the splines could be worn from having a loose nut.
My wife says my truck always has trouble because of the loose nut behind the wheel......

Seems vaguely familiar for some reason.....
LOL! Sorry about that! I had run out of coffee and forgot my most important rule about posting in forums....make sure coffee capacity is topped off before posting.
