I have a 94 Aerostar XLT, 4LT, loaded. I need a new Alternater, but would like to upgrade to a higher amp one. I read somewhere that a 130 amp Explorer one will fit? Can anyone help out. I think a 95 amp one is too small. Has anyone seen the forum about the upgrade?
I see the Autolite brand through Checker lists both the standard 95 amp and the upgraded version 130 amp as the same part # (7765-6-2) but with different pricing. (Nearly double for the 130amp version). Go down to the store and have them pull both versions and see if they share the same case, pulley and mounting arrangements.
The 95 amp version represents an upgrade over the earlier 80 amp so, unless you're powering some serious amp sucking sound system, 95 should be more than adequate.
Well
The 130 amp is bigger but will fit. I was dumb and bought the 95 amp. I bought it at our Canadian Tire ,Bosch product. 5 yr warr. If anyone must bought a new one buy the 130. It was only 10$ more. But I needed it so I bought the 95 amp
