I have a set of 38.5 m/t baja claws and need to know the best way to rotate them.Since they are directional I cant just swap them over so what do I do?
go the only way you can go, front to rear. if everythings right, your front tires normally wear faster than the rears and thats really about it. the only reason you rotate your tires is so it wears evenly front to rear. i know one guy who will buy a set of tires, run em till the fronts are bald, move the backs to the front, and buy new rear tires. that's a guy whos been a mechanic for 20 yrs
Actually, it is typical for the front tires to wear quicker. Part of this is the greater weight over them, other minute alignment issues. This is why we rotate
Well you could try doing what I do. Burn rubber everywhere you go and those back tires will wear down just as fast as the front (or in my case faster!). Thus eliminating the need to rotate.
Yeaaaaaahhh, and I'm sure it's got nothing to do with 4K clutch drops. I've never owned a vehicle where the drive wheels didn't wear first. Only time I had fronts wear before rears was bad pin bearings that caused my wheels to tilt in. I guess I'm a little too heavy on the gas.
my rears on my sonoma are wearing faster than the front but its only on the outside. thats because i like to whip it through the bends.....thing dont have enough power to get out of its own way let alone spin the tires.
