I have a 2004 f-250 fx4 that I just installed a fabtech 8" lift and some 38.5 mickey thompson baja claws on, my problem is when turned to full lock the tires rub on the leaf springs(behind the axle) I was thinking I could use some wheel spacers to push the tires out some. Any one ever run into this problem? thanks.
Different wheels with less backspacing (less distance between the wheel mounting surface and the inner rim edge, creating a deeper dished wheel when viewed from the front and causing the tires to extend out further) would be a better choice than wheel spacers. Wheel spacers are not a good choice, especially on the front axle.
anything over 38's will rub on the inner leaf springs. you can also grind down the inner side of the knobbies of the tires, that will help somewhat. i also have the same problem and was considering using adapters, but i do agree with yeti. so i will just deal with the rubbing.
I too have tires rubbing up front , I told the dealer that I ordered the wheels to make sure they wouldn't rub , but they do at full turn mine are 315x75x16's on 16x8 rims , I did put a 1/4 inch spacer on both front wheels and they still rub , Iwill not go more so I just don't turn as sharp ... that my troubles with spacers Fred
I just lifted my F-350 10.5 with 39.5x15x20 TrXus STS tires, mine rub when i turn too much as well. From what Im hearing the wheel spacers dont seem like too good of an idea. So what i did was weld in a steering stop on the knuckle to i dont have to worry about the rub. Three point turns galore now though!! But the truck looks BAD *** and thats all that matters.

can i use wheel spacers on my 2004 f 350 so i can run larger tires im thinking about 295-75-16 i dont want to buy new wheels. also will i need to lift the front (leveling kit) thank you
You can run 295 with out spacers here are a few pics of munkey's rig he has the 295 bfg's. As you can see in the 1st pic not much room back there once you turn the wheel but it can be done some guys run 305's
Yea I'd skip the spacers - if you really need more room then get wider wheels. I wouldn't recomend using any kind of spacer on a 1 ton truck.
I have 305/70-16's on my truck (with 16x8" wheels) with a 2" leveling kit - but my tires look just like the above picture when turned hard - they JUST fit - and that's sitting level. If you're at all twisted up and turn - they rub on the inner fenderwell.
