I wanna know how much of a lift is needed for 35-36" tires. Im getting a 3" body lift kit and I wanna know how much higher the suspension lift has to be to clear it. Im also probably gonna cut out the fenders and put on fender flares so how high would I need the suspension lift to be to clear 35"s if I already got a 3" body lift. thnx
I run 35X12.50X15 BFG AT/s on my 86 BII. I have 3 inch body lift along with 4 inch suspension lift. I still have slight rubbing..but nothing to worry about.
You might check out the fiberglass fenders that Perry's fab and Fiber makes. They look really slick on the BII, I'm planning on getting some. They also have them flared, to kill 2 birds with one stone. I was told that the rear fenders take a little 'massaging' to fit right, since they are made for the rangers, and they just arent the same... lemme see if I can't find a link for you.
best thing to do with 35's is get about 7 inches of overall clearance, which with a 3 inch body and 4 inch suspension, and a little help with a sawzall and some extend a flare from summit which run about $130 it wouldn't shred your tires if you were to bottom out which isn't likely but could happen, and the extend-a-flare looks good also.. but what would look really nice is a 3" body with 6 inch suspension and extended radius arms, maybe switch in new axles from an explorer, which are quite a bit stronger, but im sure you already knew that
Hey...sidenote to the original tire question. I checked out those fender flares from that baja company...easily the coolest mod i've ever seen in my life. Only problem is, they dont give any contanct info besides an email. I dont know how seriously im looking into them so i wanted to ask on here before i go emailing them. Any idea just how much these flares cost and where the company is located?????
if you want 44's under there..find a 72-79 Ford truck or Bronco 4x4..take the springs, radius arms and buckets..the rear and rear leafs..install them on the BII and you'll get about 3 inches of suspension from them springs. If you want good prices on suspension lifts www.4wheelparts.com and www.rockymountainsusp.com have reasonable prices. 4wheelparts.com offers free shipping on friday/sat/sun.
if u did find a 72-79 ford truck of bronco, and took all that stuff out of it, would it be close to direct bolt on? of what all would you need for that? and if you wanted to do an additional lift after that, would you do it with a bronco ii lift or orig truck or bronco lift?
