Is there any easy way to remove clamped pipes (not welded) from each other? I need to replace my muffler, don't have a welder, and don't want to pay a shop to do it for me - this leaves me clamping as my only option. My pipes are clamped to my muffler now, but I can't get them apart, anyone have any tricks?
Do I need to weld on the extension/adapter? If so, than I will need to stick to the chisel. I didn't get a chance to work on it today, had to paint the basement
I agree with kwanderi. Buy an exstention that has the same diameter on one end as you stock pipe and an inside diameter the same size as stock pipe on the other. You'll just need one extra clamp. Even if you get your old muffler off with the chisel the pipe may be distorded also. This could make it hard to install the muffler. The sawsall way is also alot quicker!!
