hey yall this 78 bubba ed., but i sold 'ol bubba and got my new truck finally. ill definetely be able to drive big blue to the october ford meet. this new truck is the most beautiful one ive ever seen. i recently put new brakes on it. but when i was puttin the passenger cap back on the hub i forgot to put the rubber seal back on it and lost it. i tried to get new ones earlier but all the places that carried the seals only had them in a $40 rebuild kit per side. im not paying $40 for a little peice of rubber. btw its got automatic hubs. im going to try the big ace this week and see if they have it there. the only problem with it is that its not a round o ring. its a flat one about 2mm wide. should i just buy the kit and take the seal out of it and return it? i know its not the most honest thing to do, but $40 for a rubber ring? no way! i had the part # round here somewhere... well i used to anyway. ill find em later if anyone needs em. thanks alot!
Buy the kit and use the seal but don't return the kit without the seal, how would you like to buy the kit and get home and get your truck tore down and find out that the seal is missing. Its not the honest thing to do and remember; what comes around goes around!
Big blue welcome back.As for your seal try what we do on Rangers /BII ,get you some make a gasket and put it in the grove where the o rings goes it works great and dont coast 40 bucks. My ranger and BII are like that and dont leak any grease and I have never got water in them.JMO
Welcome back bud.
J harvey- I wish that was the case, just staying busy here.
Between my regular job, home and dodgin Elvis' probation officer that leaves little time or money for PBR.
But thanks for the wonderful thought!!
Well i found the seal, after digging through the trash, lol. so thats taken care of. but i found out that the brake fluid has been mixed. it has silicone brake and regular fluid in it as well. its all black stuff. plus the bleed screw in the caliipers is frozen. im gonna replace everything except for the master cylinder and the RABS, and hope its going to be alright. o yea, passed emissions easily yesterday, my truck produces less than 10% of what theyll allow in every catergory
