Question Wiper motor swap??

Hey guys,
I have a 65 F100 SWB, 6I and need to replace the wiper motor. What I would like to do is install a 2 speed motor. The one out the truck is a one speed, would it be possible to replace it with a two speed?? If so, would any modifications have to be done??

JJ if you're gonna mess with it get an Infinite Variable Switch & harness w/ timer & make your 2 speed an infinitely variable delay system, or a low speed or high speed, all at the same time. And yes a two speed will fit and even if you don't make it variable delay, you will need a two speed switch in either case.

The systems from 73 to 79 seem to work good. Just get all the pieces when you get what you want from salvage yard, They also have provision for power W/S Washers.

Pete, I have been told that car and van deleys will work with the 2 speed switch as well. A fellow swapped mine for some parts that I had, sure is nice.

aussie f 350

My 65 f 350 which has a two speed wiper system. It hasnt been modified in any way to my knowledge. Was this an option back then or have I lucked out because of the aussie right hand drive conversion?

My old 65 N.C. state truck has two speed wipers also and unless the state
garage changed it over before my dad bought it in 1979 . I doubt it. I would
say it came that way!

P.S. Right hand drive very very cool! How much are those steering boxes
going for ?

I think the steering boxes are the same as LHD, just bolted to the right hand rail using a fomoco bracket. Same as my chevy silverado, cut it into pieces and stick it together back to front!!

John,
As far as I know that info about P=Car timers is correct. I know some folks who used them & the P-Car underdash harness as well. . . .

Switches are usually same between some Ford models like Mustang, Maverick, cars & etc. & F Series too. May be a difference in Lincolns & Mercury (P-Cars) tho. But as far as I recall the differences is in how the ***** look between cars & trucks.

Either anyhow they will all work the same because the technology is the same.

Aahh Master Pete correcttamonda again, the knobbie thingie would be different, and a problem I would work around most any day to have delay wipers.

Hey Gordo G'day MAN! Fancy meetin you here agi'n,

Thanx for the good wishes. We're quite safe. We did like Monty Python Advised when the Dragons came. . . .RUN AWAY

I'm an Ol' timer & I didn't become so by taking foolish chances. Any storm, Typhoon or Hurricane the size of Frances is enough to make me travel & travel we did. I'm holed up in the middle of Georgia waiting to see what transpires. We'll either go farther north to Mountains, or remain here & return in the aftermath.

When it comes to tropical cyclones, Storm, Flatland, Mountains (like with Paper-Rock -Scissors) Mountains always win & huricanes always lose. . . .

Right now, it's traveling away from where we're located.

Thanx agi'n Buddy, I appreciate your concern, I'll speak at ya later.
