Memphis Car Audio ???

Hello i'm looking in to a new system for my truck singel cab 79.. and i've been all over my town.. Theres one place selling Memphis Car Audio speakers... dose any one know about them or dose any one have them.. are they any good? i'm not looking for a bas'er i'm want good clear sound no Rap here... it seems that every thing these guys want to sell me is for basing so loud you'll blow your windows out.. they tell me I need like 3 12's that kinda seems like a lot for a singel cab truck....
Thanks for any help you can give me

Never owned Memphis myself but had a friend with two twelves and it sounded just fine. If you just want sound go for maybe just one twelve and about 400 watts. You will have bass when you want or tune it down and go mellow.

Memphis is solid gear. The Memphis Belle amps are amazing. I had one that did 75x4 AND 1000X1 which is perfect for a whole system. The whole line is good except for their coaxial speakers but I hate coaxials to begin with. Most folks have a hard time getting over Memphis's extreme use of the color ORANGE.

What items exactly were the pitching to you? Power Reference? Mojo?

I had two sets of memphis components in my 91 explorer and the sound quality was awesome! Won first place in a local USAC sponsered event. If you're looking for true sound quality def. go with components it helps with the sound a lot more. If money is no option check out MB quarts. As far as bass goes one 10 in a reg. cab would be more than enough if you just want it for sound quality and no thump.

Hard to get pricing unless you have a dealer near you. Memphis does not allow internet sales and not much is availible on fleebay. Check www.memphiscaraudio.com for a dealer near you. Yes they are solid. The best, well no, but that is very subjective. What are you running now? Whats your budget? What car?

They are def. not the "best" but for the money they cost they are def. comparable to some of the higher end stuff out there.

right now i have infinity's in the front, pioneer something in the back that i picked up from walmart, i was tired of stock in the back so i got them, i have a blaupunkt casablanca head unit, with a virtual labs 4-channel amp running speakers, and i have 2 12" audiobahns w/ 600 watts RMS and 1200 watt peak per sub, the amp is another virtual reality something or another, that i have bridged, and it's putting out about 75-100 watts per channel at 2 ohm, it sucks but it all sounds pretty good together, im thinking about going with a kicker component system or something like that, but idk what to do, funds arent high, per month i get about $300 of blow away money but its hard not to spend it on junk that i deff dont need lol, but idk what to do with it

If, as you say, you're not a bass maniac, there's no way on God's green earth that you need three 12" speakers. A single 10" is almost certainly more than enough. I don't know too much about your specific setup but if you think the bass needs improvement, I'd start with a better quality amp. As for the rest of the system, don't spend much on your rear speakers; they're there for fill only and should be barely audible when the system is properly balanced.

Anyway, to answer your question, Memphis Audio is well-made stuff and you can't go wrong with your brand, but I'd be really leery of a shop that was hard-selling you on three 12" drivers.

They are great subs the 10s hit harder then some 15s if you are just into a good sound not window raddling bass 3 12s is too much go for 2 of there good 10s the ones I would recommend is the ones with the orange dustcap with the m on it. You might also consider checking out other brands to mephis are pretty pricey.

Look at the new rockford punch stage 3 they hit nice! Another good sub is the kicker solo baric L7s they are great and the box size is verry small for a sub. Stay away from cerwin vegas there easy to blow. If you can find a set of treos which could be slim they are bad a$$ theres a shop in town that sells them one word deafning the have a excusion there that you can hear it 7 blocks away no joke but the treos are pricey too. For the budget the rocks or the kickers.

Memphis speakers

I have a pair of memphis PR 62.
Pretty good sound, nice moveable tweets.
At $100 i could'nt beat the lifetime warranty.

I prefer JL vr 600 just because i like silk tweets but priced more!
