TOUGHER LOOKING.. Maybe more of a look like the 'Tonka' concept vehicle that had some affect on the 05 design.. Hope they don't do a complete sheetmetal change.. Unless they put in a 4.0 that puts out 600 horse.. Alot can happen in two years!!!
.......................HP......................... .
They have been promising the F-150 with a 4.0 Powerstroke V-6. I wonder where they are on that?
Ford is actually using the 4.5L V6 PSD in their LCF trucks now. I know the major problem they had was getting it to meet emissions requirements for 1/2 ton trucks/SUVs. When low sulphur diesel becomes available I'm sure you'll see it in the F150 and Expedition.
The dealer where I bought my 05 from has told me that at the national ford dealers convention or what ever it was said that they were shown (or he was shown) pictures of the 2007 and yes he assured me that it is staying VERY TRUE to the Tonka Concept truck. Ford possition was they did not want to launch the Tonka this year because they were afraid the public would not like it or respond to it well (this is why they were very nervous about the 04 F15, this is why they kept the "Heritage" 2003 model around because they were afraid that their changes would be TOO Radical and they would loose sales because of the changes.)
So this is why ford has made "softer & more subtle" changes to the 2005, to prepair the market for the 2007 which will be launched in late 2006. and yes there was a continuation of the Excursion on the Tonka format. I wanted him to give me a copy but he wouldnt he said he would have lost his head all he could do was tell me if I want the 2007 Tonka take a 2yr lease and then trade it in on the Tonka (this is what I have done) PS I have Photoshoped to the best of my ability and close to what I seen minus the dualys and the huge chrome mirrors Oh well keep your fingers crossed. And dream and drool, nobody will touch this. PS he said nothing about the engine just that it would be very aggressive just like the styling.
This looks a lot like the truck in Toby Keith's "Who's your daddy?" video.....He is a BIIGGG supporter of Ford, and is supposed to "in the know" with them...As he says in the DVD portion of his latest CD.
I'd buy one in a minute....and I just got my 04 f250
They won't price it untill its in production, they need to know how much more it will cost them to produce before setting the MSRP. I read in a magazine that the '04 cost $1000 more to produce but the MSRP only went up $500 when compared to the '03...so who knows
