i think those tanks are hydraulic tanks for some sort of hydraulic launch system. dont laugh it does sound funny. whey you brake, it stores some of the braking effort up as hydraulic fluid under pressure. then when you go to take off, it releases the fluid. https://www.ford-trucks.com/news/newsf5.html here is what i am talking about, see see im not crazy. very bottom of the page

I also have a friend that works for a Ford dealer and he has also mentionad a complete redesign of the Superduty line. He said that we should be seeing evidence of it in approx. 6 months.
in a truckin' magazine they had a picture of an '07 SD but it was covered up in the black stuff that manufacturers use to cover up their new vehicles when they take them out and test them
While at the barber yesterday I looked at a truck mag and low and behold there was a full on picture of an '07.
It really doesn't look all that different than the '05 except for the air vents on the front fenders close to the doors. Same nose look as the '05 but bigger wheels and maybe wheel wells.
Ya, I've heard about the '07 too, but imo like the '03's again taught us, you're taking a big risk getting the first few years of a major model change... I'm hoping I waited long enough with the '05. It would probably be at least '09 before I'd consider buying it anyway.... and by then it may be time to sell the '05
I was in laughlin 2 weeks ago and 2 F350's drove by towing trailers full of water. The trucks appeared to be the 2007 prototype with the black leather covering the whole front end. Looks like they are going to have some big fender flares, like the tonka. Wish I would have had my camera! I can't wait to trade up my '04 F150
"...they were afraid that their changes would be TOO Radical and they would loose sales because of the changes."
Well, Ford seems to think its buyers are all conservitive types. If Ford is going to compete they better be willing to be radical and inovative. Heck it took them 40 years to make a Mustang that i think is finally worth buying....
