10am this morning, I ordered my Predator for my 6.0. Of course I HAD to support our main sponsor and order it from Motorhaven, hell, they give you free overnight shipping! w00t!! Can't beat that with a stick!
Anywho, I've been loving the performance my truck has now, especially after I put that exhaust on.... I just can't wait till tomorrow to play with this and see the difference!
Is there anything special that I need to do first before I do my first program?
The Predator tune/install is easy, you may want to pre read the manual, its short and sweet with pretty basic reading/explanation, and then just follow the Predator screen prompts to the 'T'.. The cycling of the key 'on and off' so much has thrown some, as they feel the programmer isn't working correcly.. Make sure everything is powered down ( leave a window down if it hot out) you don't want any voltage variations ect.. And you'll be smile'n ear to ear in a matter off minutes.. Be sure though, to drive it with 'reasonable' care for 5 warm up cycles as the system relearns the/your driving strategy.. Which will SOON change!!!
you might also warm your engine up before you start to lessen the pull by the glow plugs...
turn off all electrical stuff, set emergency brake close doors...
these are not required... but the number of key cycles and all do put a drain on the batteries....
and BE patient... the first time is the LONGEST time because it has to make a complete backup of your original tune....
you can preread the manual, but trying to read it and not watch the screen got me into trouble the first time...
the predator screen is the latest and should guide you correctly...
make sure when it first boots up it says the r34c or higher version...
(which it should...)
Haya, I give him till 11:30 AM after fedex gets there to be posting about
WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And you can actually be reading the manual online right now if you want at diablosport.com
Unfortunately I have to work till 1600 tomorrow. So, give me till about 1800 or so...lol But, I'm heading to Diablo's site right now. Gonna do a little reading!
But on a side note, I just checked on my Order History on Motorhaven's site and it still says "Queued". So, hopefully it will be here tomorrow? I have faith though!

OH HECK - You're in Little Rock.... !?!
when is Bill Clinton going to FINSH that DANG interstate work ?!?!!??
I've been going to Memphis about twice a year for the last 5 or 6 years (the in-laws are there ) and the interstate has never NOT been under construction !!!!!!!!!!
I'm gonna call motorhaven and tell them with THAT kind of traffic issues you can't have a predator !!!!
Yep. I40 sucks! So does I30 between here and Dallas. I hate that drive! I'm usually driving it about once a year when I head down to San Angelo to the Air Force Fire Academy for school. But I agree with you. 40 between LR and Memphis is absolutely horrible!!
If you call Motorhaven, let them know to get that thing here quick. I have a few ricers around here that I want to drive over! After I catch them in a race! :lmao
Agreed - section of I-30 just north of dfw that after 6 or 7 hours from memphis I hit at "sustantial" speed and wake everyone up when we leave the ground a couple of times !
I only read the manual cause if somethin went wrong I didn't want everyone to say...Well,,, did you read the manual before you started!! And it doesn't say in the manual about the amount of cycles it takes to complete the install.. You'd think they'd put the 'patients' word somewhere in there.. Think I almost got carpal tunnel before I got'r finished up.. Worth the pain though.. Had to take mine off for a cam sensor/diff cover leak under warrant.. Sure miss the 'commuter' aid..
Welp, it's at the house right now. Wife just called me and said UPS man just dropped it off. So, here I sit till 1600, another 2 hours and 30 minutes away, before I can go home and play. Sigh.
Do it...and Die! :lol Yeah, the wife is wanting to see what it can do too. She was pretty stoked when I upgraded my Subaru from 227hp to 400hp. That car was a little ROCKET! Now she's wanting to know what close to 800tq feels like!!
MAN THIS CLOCK IS SOOOOO SLOW! I Hate stupid Atomic clocks and their superior accuracy!
Holy crap! This thing teh r0x0rz!!1 That +100HP tune is simply amazing! I sort of thought that i was back in my Subaru again. Hell, the +65HP tune is awesome too! Love the way the tranny shifts now too. Alot quicker than stock.
But the only gripe I have with it, is that it takes about 4-5 minutes to swap between tunes...
Anyway...for just a simple flash programmer, this thing has GOT to be the best bang for the buck mod. Now, just to get my local shop here to get a diesel engine pickup, so I can throw thing thing on a dyno!
I know you're excited... but might want to edit out a few words including the "masking" characters --- some may consider that "cussing" and there are a lot of litle FTE'ers that frequent here..
Your's is an 03 with turbo back exhaust and stock intake?
I'd guess 375 HP and 720 lbft of torque !!!! which ain't bad at all
From what I can see here, everyone seems to be very happy with the results. However, I was wondering if you can install this predator "program" into the truck without adding the aftermarket gauges. I have a new 350 crew cab on order, and I'm not crazy about adding aftermarket "stuff" to the inside of the cab. Now the exterior (exhaust, etc.) is a different story! I guess my biggest concern is EGT's. Will the program allow the temps. to remain in the "safe" range?
Sorry for the long post, but Diesels are new to me. I have always owned "gassers." Thanks!
