Please Help!!
I have a 97 expo..... my truck wont start.. i hear a click when i turn key... i have check the battery and the terminals.. they are ok.. i have checked the starter. the starter soleniod has 3 connections, 2 of the connections look like they connect to battery cables, the starter has a very short "rope looking" wire that looks as if it was connected to 3rd connector on soleniod. it is decomposed and corroded. is that a ground that comes out the side of the starter? can that be replaced without buy a new starter? please help?

decomposed and corroded ..... still connected?
If so, may not be the problem.
Starter out and to Autozone for testing.
Or... If you have an external solenoid block, easy to replace and not that expensive.
Battery Terminals clean?

i do have an external solenoid block, but there is a small coil that comes out of the starter is not connected to 3rd terminal on soleniod block.... i do hear a click and all dome lights and radio go out when i turn the key. wont start.
