so this guy i used to work with called me a couple a days ago and asked me how to hook up a tach he had just bought. well not thinking bout his overall vehicle knowlege being limited to inserting the key and starting it i gave him general details. i told him to put the black wire on the ground the red to the bat the green to a light and the orange to the distributer. now he hooked evrything thing up fine which mind you i was very proud of him for figuring out how to work the pliers. (it was a big step) but he botch the dis wire. he actually pulled the coil wire off and wedged the wire down on the coil and put the coil wire back on. so this tach obviously not reading right he decides to leave it for another day. 5 days to be exact. im really suprised that the car even ran like that and that the tach lasted as long as it did. especially when you consider the coil is puttin out somethin like 60k volts or somethin like that, but needless to say it burts into flames on the highway and burnt the windshield a lil, but over all not to much damage. life is a lesson, but your kinda sol if your just a d student.
