Must be nice to have a place where they know what they are doing. I think they should pay me for showing them into the wide world of exaust tips and mufflers. Beside the fact that they are not very good at what they do they are not friendly or helpful at all. Its like talkin to a brick wall.
so is it safe to say, for the budget minded, you can get good sound and a little extra power form a single outlet flowmaster or other performance muffler?
The hard part about mufflers for my truck is I loveeeee the sound of V8s with Flowmasters, but I know I can't have that sound in my V6. So what would be the absolute best V8ish sounding muffler for our 4.2Lers? The Warlocks?
Idk if the warlocks will sounds V eighty, thats a cool word, but they will be loud just like straight pipes...my truck is kinda loud and all i got is cats on.
Thats good because I cant stand the sound of a ricey exaust especially in a truck. Does anyone in the forum actually have the warlocks and can voutch for them.
I thought somebody on this 4.2 forum did. In that case stay away from a 3inch single in dual out 40 series flowmaster with 2.5 pipes running out the back with tips..thats sounds ricey when stepping into the gas. So far I find turndowns with a magnaflow dual out to be grunt enough.
I have never heard a v6 getting a v8 rumble. I did notice however, if you put an intake on, or remove the stupid canaster from around the air filter, it does tend to deepen the sound a little.
Guys, face it, our V6 isn't going to sound like a V8...ever! The closest I've heard is a sound clip from Talley's old truck with his ported heads and exhaust.
Yes, and it is the simple matter that there are two additional cylinders. The sound is not as full. But I have heard very aggresive V6 like the Buick Grand National V6 with turbo's and dynomax exhuast.
I have heard 1 V6 S10 sound like a good sounding V8 with Flowmasters, he wasn't running cats and he had dual Flowmasters, I mean, man, it sounds GOOD. I understand that a V6 with cats can't sound as good as a V8, I would like to have a good rumble though, and I think either the flowmaster delta 40 or the warlocks will have that. I've about decided to go with a true dual setup and have the pipes exiting out the front of the rear tires now. Just gotta decide on the mufflers
