Multiple battery hook up w/solar panel...

Bought a 78 club wagon conversion(redi-kamp) and it has a solar panel on the roof. My problem is I bought the van and it only had one battery. Saturday I bought a deep cycle battery and guessed at the wiring of the isolator connections to the battery every thing seemed fine. Hooked up the inverter and watched the olympics all night (started the van 3 times in 5hrs.). Saturday I started the van up every thing is fine then a stall slowing down for a speedbump and I hit the ignition and 0 nada nothing.....Monday night unhooked the battery from the ISOLATOR and shes' started fine .....How do I hook my second battery up ?

Thanks in advance for your responses.
Marcus

Stazi64,
Go to the main page of the van forum and look near the top right of the page for a button labeled "Views." Click that button and it will re-order the topics posted in this forum in order of the most to the least number of views. That is, how many times someone has looked at that topic. The most popular one will appear at the top of the list and your in luck, because it is about mutiple batteries. Maybe you can find your answer there.
Good luck,
Gene
