Question Replace parking brake cable (w/o tension equalizer)

Seeking instructions on how to reconnect the front parking brake cable to the mid-ship cable on a 1993 F150 w/o a tension equalizer. I replaced the broken front cable, but can't figure out how to get the slack necessary to connect the front to mid-ship cables. I looked for instructions in my Chiltons manual, but it only provides instructions using a tension equalizer, which my truck does not have. Thanks.

its difficult, you have to pull the slack. I've done it before and normally it takes two people to pull on each side meeting in the middle

Txs Randy... I will attempt to struggle with it tonight. It appears the handle/spool mechanism has a white plastic tab that, if I could figure out how to remove it, would allow the spool to over-rotate, which would provide slack in the cable. Not sure how to do this, however. It would make the connection simple.
