I have an 04 Eddie Bauer with navigation and DVD. I am stationed in England and the market over here for this thing is huge. With the exchange rate so crap, I have had offers in the high $80's for this thing.
Does anyone know how to get the Navigation to run in Europe? Also, because the DVD's here are PAL and won't play in the US DVD player, what do I do about the player? Should I just go to a quality shop and buy new systems and have them installed? Thanks for the help! Adam
Your DVD player is region locked to region 1, which means it will only play DVDs for the US and Canadian markets. The Navigation System only services the US and Canada as well. No other options are offered by Ford, at least that is what is printed in the owners data.
So you would have to see what Ford Europe has to offer and I would imagine if those people are willing to pay large for your truck, You would probably have to pay large to convert.
I'm sure I'll just have to fork out the dollars. It's about $2500 to get a new DVD and Navigation installed. Pennies when talking about the profit margin. Thanks for your help
I don't know who for sure makes the DVD player, but on most of them there is a way to change the coding of the region it plays. You'll just have to contact the manufacture (JC?)
As for the Nav system, call Navtech, they make the CD's and will be able to tell you which ones will work. VW and BMW use them and you can exchange the Euro disk and the NA ones with no problems, I would try to get a Euro Ford Navtech CD disc and stick it in the player.
