94 Ford Explorer lower front shock mount

94 Ford Explorer lower front shock mount
I am replacing the front shocks on my 94 Explorer, and I broke the lower front shock mount so I can no longer get a bolt onto it. The mount looks as if it might be a threaded fit into the radius arm. Can anybody tell me if I can replace the shock mount, or do I have to replace the complete radius arm assembly?

The Shock Mount should be bolted to the Radius Arm ? Did the Mount itself break or did one of the bolts ? All you will need to do is go to Ford and get a new Shock Mount . If the bolts need replacing and Ford doesnt have them , use Grade 8 replacements of the proper size and length.

I broke the shock mount bolt on my '93 Explorer also. The auto parts store told me I'd have to buy an entire new radius arm assembly, but I think they were mistaken. The dealer was closed that day, so I couldn't see about getting a replacement bolt. My quick look lead me to believe the bolt wasn't threaded but riveted onto the radius arm. I needed it done that day, so I went for the quickest fix--I got a local welding shop to weld on a new mount for $50, and it has been fine for one year and counting.
