What is the output of the alternator on a 2003 F250 with a 6.0 diesel? I want to add some fog and/or driving lights to the truck but do not want to create more amp-draw than the alternator can keep up with. Also, does any one know the total amp-draw with everything turned on (head lights, wipers, a/c or heater)?
99f350sd...can you email or tell me how to do this? I'm about to pay $350 for a V10 alt that puts out 200...and they want my core which made me suspect its just a modded stocker. I was planning on keeping the new stock unit as a backup alt.
Also...after getting a reply email (person actually had their name at the end) from the Truck Body Builders Advisory Service at Ford Motor Comany...a typical Super Duty will average 40 amps when the truck is running which includes basic vital electronic components. If your running AC, have the wipers on, hazards on, and you operate the power seat and windows at the same time it can go up to 80 intermittant. At idle speeds the stock alternator is supposed to put out 74-75 amps. Thus if you idle around the city all day and have a big stereo system, accessory off road lights, and such...you will eventually be undercharged. Just a pointer of what I was told by ford via email response.
