Okay sometime last week my brother was out washing his 00' monte pace car and he had these nice rubber mats for the interior so he decided to set them on my hood of my truck. My truck is a 1986 Ranger and when i went to lift the mats it left huge whitish rings where the mats laid in the sun. I am so mad because he wasn't smart enough just to put them in the bed!! Can anyone help me or try to give me advice on how to get this out of the hood. Otherwise its war with me and my brother
I think I would take his floor mats and put them on HIS hood in the sun for a while and leave some rings,or maybe put them where the sun don't shine.this won't fix your problem, but it may make you feel better. you could probably get some light rubbing compound like paint shops use on new paint to remove the marks.tell your inconsiderate, thoughtless brother to get out there and do the buffing, and pay for the rubbing compound for being so thoughtless of other peoples things and feelings.
the sad part is he is 10 years older than me! He went to college for engineering but he does this! He hasnt said sorry and i got yelled out today for making a big deal about it cause my parents arent that supportive either. I think ill be going to my uncle who is a painter for advice as well!
Chevy people think the world revolves around them and don't care about anyboby else. You should remind him that a "pace" car is just the slowest car they could find to put on the track to block the "real" cars.
Ooo nice comeback! Haha my truck is almost seen 20 years and has only been in one accident when some sunfire ran in the back and dented up the bumper.. lets just say i had a few words with her then let her go, figured her car had more damage.. i didtn want to deal with it. He acutally first had a 2002 monte that he totaled on an icy road into a brick mail box chevy drivers think there car can handle anything Lets just say im still a GM girl but my blood is turned for my truck. I love my truck yet its a ford ill admit! Haha.. my uncle hopefull will fix me up!
I use Meguiar's Cleaning Wax to take most stuff off of my paint. It's not the best, but you can't use harsh stuff on clearcoat finishes. If that doesn't work, then Vin 95 had the right idea about throwing the mats on his hood. But this won't be just for revenge...observe how he removes the stains, then you'll know what to do!

Everyone now a days says, "I am an engineer!" Good for them, so what..... it still doesn't mean they have 1 stinking once of common sense. Book smart, real world retards.
Maybe put some fresh fish on his hood on a sunny day. People who drive Sunfires, I've noticed, *generally* do not know how to drive and *think* they're driving a sports car. You probably handled that situation WAY better than I would. Many people who go to engineering school have no sense and huge egos... I know from experience...
