all i am saying is that is works on my bronco and when i remove my anti wrap bar i dont gain ANY extra flex. mind you this is not some supoer modified 22" coilover suspension but it is a modified leaf sprung system. he's the one telling me that he doesn't agree with me, in which i could care less, but everyone does different things. I just know what works and what doesn't on my bronco! end of story!

BTW....Pro, expect a large cardboard box at your house in a week or so. i put a few virgins in the mail for ya this afternoon
cutts,
I never meant anything by what was said. If the setup works for you, great. It didn't work on my truck. About your truck being better than mine, I really wouldn't know. Yours was designed for something totally different than mine. Sorry if it seemed like I was all over you, I never meant it. I wonder if you or Pro would share some thoughts on making a system to let the ladder bar work properly, w/o a housing floater. I'll agree, you kno more in this area than I do, and I'm sorry for questioning you.
Hell, its good to question people. Its important to question people. Especially fishy, it builds character And frankly, you'll see in my post that I agree with you on the limitations of that style of axle wrap device. I didn't comment on fishy's setup per se, because internet critiques are silly. Its hard for me to believe that its not a limiting factor on his truck, but not having seen his suspension cycle I'd be an idiot to tell him what does and doesn't work on HIS truck. Not that you did. Anyways, its boring when everybody in here agrees on topics. The God of Anti-Wrap saw the pizzing match, and verily, he was amused
As to your question, the best way to make ladder bars work is with heim joints on the ends and either a slip or shackle joint. As to making the slip or shackle joint work, its all geometry and different on every vehicle if you want it optimal.
Then you'll want a simple slip joint. You'll just have to dial in the geometry of it. Ivan does have a pic of an early gen like this I designed on my truck. It was posted in here recently, but I don't remember where. Hopefully somebody can pull up the link. Actually, I probably should stop posting about this stuff because my original intent was to make money off of it!
The easiest way is to eliminate leaf springs, and run coils but then again you can forget about using it for hauling anything.
Pro I am not sure about what you mean on shackle joint can you give me a link to show me exactly what you mean I probably know what it is but by another name.
as far as slip joint I actually seen one made with the slip joint part of a driveshaft (actually 2 driveshafts one for each side) welded to the ladder bar, and the front link, this allowed for expansion of the leafs, but didn't allow any axle wrap.
But I thought we were going to start a lumber forum.
I saw an old non-street legal rig in So Cali earlier this summer that eliminated axle rap. It didn't have much articulation either since it had the axles welded to the frame.
If you want to eliminate all axle rap buy some white axles . . . just remember that they can't dance or jump either. Be sure the axle code doesn't end in "MNM". Fo shizzle my nizzle!

i do apologize that things got a lil heated and part of it is my stubborness. one thing is for sure though, we all love the beutiful world of off-road pleasures.
dude, i DON"T know more than you and i really hope no one here believes that i am a self centered bitch! i have never done a four link nor had a buddy do one, but i have read about them (which everything looks goo don paper). i am not and will never claim to know more than anyone else on here....i have learned more from all the guys on here than any chiltons or haynes book!
once again, i was being sarcastic and didn't mean for things to go the way they did! SORRY
This thread has now officially made my all time favorite list. Its taking all my willpower not to touch that quote. Will...........not.............go...............th ere
