1st Flat Tire...........ever
I've never had a flat tire. Anyone ever have someone slit your tires? I've never had this happen either and I'm glad as that would be one bad day to come out and see all 4 and the spare slashed. People like to attack your vehicle if you make them mad for some reason, jeesh.
If I ever have a reason to attack someone's vehicle for revenge, I'd just air down their tires, the spare too. While that and put a nice hole in their radiator and hoses if they really deserved it.
I could never really do this though, I'm too nice.
My dad had just bought a new set of tires for his 83 Ranger about 4 years ago. It is a work truck and I cut down trees for a living. Well, two weeks after he put them on we go a contract to cut down a bush for a homeowner. Not really a bad job but we had to drive the Ranger around to pick up all the wood. Well, the only problem is the trees we were cutting down were HAWTHORN! EVery day we would take the truck in to get 5-10 plugs. This went on for just over a week. When the job was done we found the tires were not holding the air as well as they should have been. So, my dad went and bought another brand new set of tires. He had the old ones laying around for a while. One day I counted all the plugs. Between all 4 tires there were around 200 PLUGS!
The tires had less than 400 kilometres on then when he got rids of them. And trust me, my dad is the LAST guy to WANT to buy brand new tires.

I think I will take the easy way out next time and call roadside assistance!
It took me 45 min. to change that damn tire! I couldn't line up the wheel with the studs. Every time I tried, the rotor would move and that steel spare is about 2X as heavy as the alloy rim.
when you jack up the wheel, only lift it 1-2 inches off the ground, now when you go to mount it, sit on the ground, set the top lug hole of the wheel at the 12 o'clock position , do the same with the rotor/drum stud, slip your feet on both sides of the tire, and lift with your toes, side it into place. this works on big and small tires.

Piper- don't even joke about that! Somebody knifed my upper radiator hose last week, I lost a day of work, and almost lost the engine in my truck. They did it in such a way that it wouldn't leak, so I didn't notice until I was almost home and there was tons of steam coming out from under the hood.

I drove on the spare for two days, then I finally had a chance to go get it fixed on Sat. Got it fixed and put it back on the truck, put away the spare, and when home. Went outside a few hours later, and the tire was flat again
Well, this time it was in my driveway so I took care of it, no problem. I'm just PO'ed at this tire shop. Either they didn't patch the hole correctly or they didn't bother to look for any other leaks (I left the tire and picked it up later,so I don't know). I can't decide if I should go back to the same shop and have them fix it right at no additional cost, or just never go back there again.
I'v had lots in the Tractor trailer, too many to count. A couple of them i didn't even realize it for over an hour. I had one in an E-350 company van also that was the right front.
I don't know they say firestone is responsible for roll-overs I had no problem controlling those two vehicles when the tires blew while driving.
When i had a grandam i had a brand new firestone blow out... controlled it fine however.
I put a stick in my 4 wheeler tire about 5 inches wide once... drove about a mile and a half on the rim back to the trailer. Tire was junk
About a month ago I poked a whole in a 4 wheeler tire.... I kept driving back to the truck... It was 11 1/2 miles back to the truck... I rode it all the way on a gravel road at 40-50 mph
It held just enough air that if i kept it spinning it wouldnt completely go flat.
Pulled to the right something horrible but the slower i went, the more it leaked and the harder it was to steer.
