Maryland resident as well. I've got the brochure in front of me, and it says your vehicle cannot be tested if:
" The exhaust system has holes or is leaking
Gasoline, oil, or coolant is leaking
The gas cap is missing
Your vehicle is emitting visible smoke for more than 10 seconds at any time
There are warning lights on the dashboard illuminated, such as the brake, temperature or oil"
They will plug into your computer and the code causing your ABS light to illuminate will cause you to fail the test (according to what they say in the brochure, at least). You may be able to reset it long enough to pass, but you should probably get it checked out (could save your truck, your life, or some else's)
Hey there. I live in Baltimore and just had my truck tested at the emissions's place. I thought they would have plugged in the OBDII connector, but for some reason they didn't. They put it on the "treadmill". So I dont think you should have to worry about the abs light being on, especially if they put it on the treadmill.
I haven't been to an emissions test in years ( diesel ), but they will not put your truck on the dyno with lights on the dash lit. Did you try replacing the sensor in the rearend. It's about $20 from Ford and takes about 5 min. to replace. That solved my ABS light problem on my 99 F250.
You might try calling the emissions test stations you plan on going to. They should be able to give you a definite answer. I can't imagine an ABS light causing a problem on an emission test.
