wow that sucks man. time to invest in low jack before somebody gives it another run. the head unit i got actually has built in gps tracking so if some steals it or the car i can call eclipse and give em a pin number and they track it. on a lighter not the ignitions in theses trucks arent complicated hell a hammer flat tip screwdriver and a c clamp and your on your way or pull the fitting off the back and roll. not the brightest of car thieves in my opinion.
yeah called my dad and he came and looked at it. (he is a mechanic for the city of dallas... has worked on this year bronco so many times.)
took one lok and was like ok... this is easy. but they messed it up real bad tho. its like they didnt want to steal it so they just beat the crap out of it.
tis a sad day when a poor defencless bronco gets raped by thieves in the city streets. bring a tear to my eye when i think of my 79 sitting outside by herself. maybie i'll go get her a blanket or some oil or something. lol
well my solution is the outside of mine looks like hell, primer showing on the hood large rust spot on the roof, dents, scratches, rust,
but the inside is better than new completely redone and customized someday i might paint it but for right now i look at it as the best antitheft system out there, "who would steal that"
also i have a flip switch to start it with relocated and different color wires so they might never figure that part out if they wanted too take her!
I do everything except leave gas money on the seat lately for someone who might want to steal the SS.
Don't get me wrong, I love her, but she's been really ****y lately. I just leave all of the dirty repair manuals on the seat, with random parts, club it, e-brake it. Most people can't think quick enough when they're doing something like that. A little bit of precaution goes a long way against an idiot...an obvious idiot (it's an 88 Bronco pal, come on, you couldn't find something better?) They're not to popular here in the urban jungle. Not too much four wheeling in the city, but everyone has a quad, go figure.
Sorry to heart what happened... But beasty has point...just like mine...ugly as all hell..at least she was. Now its in for a restoration...but I have never had it broke into with all the rust on her.
Now you could always wire 220v to her when parked so if anyone touches it......POW! nice little wakeup. hehe
You could probaly do that pretty easily in a home driveway or garage right? Not like I'm seriously going to hook that up, but now that it sounds like such a cool idea, I'm curious if you could just run a 3-prong outlet outside and just plug the truck in to charge everything? Like I said, just curious...big MacGyver and A-Team fan when I was a kid.
yea im in on this one too. my 79 is uglyier than hell, but ya know what they say "guys always get stuck with cars like thier mom" or somethin.
man this thread got a lil warped real quick first were stealin trucks than livin out of em hookin em up to the house and fryin fluffys nuts all at the same time. sounds kinda like a night rider bronco or somethin.
Hey, im feelin for you as well. Last night some precious angel smashed the vent window, broke in, and stole $3 of change from the cup holder. Left two long scratches on the paint on the door, and swung the rear tire carrier so hard that it bent the side panel. God bless em. They really needed some smokes.
