Polishing the Ex

In the process of polishing the Ex. I did the clay bar to the hood and front fender. What a difference. I used the Zaino polish and it looks great. I started with my 06 Jeep Liberty. I clayed and polished that today. I figured I would try the small car first. The Ex is HUGE compared to the Jeep.

I did find that you need very little of the Zaino on the applicator. Not like waxing. It's like glass now. I only have 3/4 of the Ex to do. Should be done by 2009. :-)

I recommend doing the clay bar. It really makes a difference.

I'l try to get some pics when I'm done.

Clay bar is awesome.

To answer the question above, it's literally a small bar of clay that's used to pull up stuck on contaminants. If your paint doesn't feel as smooth as glass, you need to clay it.

I just tried the turtle wax ice liquid clay, it worked really well, very easy to do and didn't take nearly as long. Smooth as glass now.

The secret is to hit the bar while doing the clay bar. Makes it seem easier but the finished product may be lacking.

Love the clay bar ! Takes the rail dust right off. I just did mine last week end. Took all day to wash, clay bar and two coats of wax. I have sold my 78 F-150,so it's finally going in the garage : ) .

I ended up using a polisher and got rid of 90 percent plus of the scratches in the clear coat out, before I waxed it up nice. Now I can add my own scratches.
