I have a 97 F150 4x4 with 4.6 V8, recently changed the plugs and it ran great,
until next day when #8 plug wire came off.I thought of buying new wire for that plug but they only come in sets. The parts store guy had a kit that comes in pairs that include a new boot and spring looking connector. Does anyone know how to install these or is it a waste of time. Thanks for your help.
Racerguy, thanks for your response. I also have a 2002 Expy with the same engine and it has the COP system. This kitwas for regular plug wires,it looked like you were suppose to slide the plug wire through the boot and attach the connector to it.I have no idea of how the connection is suppose to be made or if the plug wire should be cut or will it pull out of boot. I think I will call a dealer and see if they will sell a single wire. Thanks again.
Racerguy, I took your advise and went to the dealer, they sold me a single plug wire.It was the #8 cylinder, put new wire on and ol'97 is running strong again.
Thanks!
