Leaky Engine Block?

I own a 98 F150 with a 4.6L and recently experienced a coolant leak. I first thought it was from the water pump however, once I took off the alternator I noticed the leak was coming from behind where the water pump mounts to the block. It looks like there is a port or hose connection that has a black plastic tube connected to it. The leak, a small stream, seemed to be spraying from the transition point on the block, where the port and the block meet (if that makes sense). It was nearly impossible to see more without removing the clutter from around the top of the block. Instead, I chose to use a block sealer and the leak has stopped...for now atleast. Anyone have this problem before? Please help.
