2008 6.4PSD with 35,000 miles. Notice a very small amount of coolant on the shop floor after the truck sits for a couple days. Looks to me like it is coming from the bottom of the top radiator hose where it connects to the block/water pump. Is this a common place to leak? The leak is very small as I cannot see a drop in coolant over a two week period. Any experience or suggestions on this?
If you look through the drivers side wheel well at the EGR coolers and see white splatter then it is most light the upper radiator hose.
New design hose has a white end nearest the motor. It now has a double 0-ring design.
It is a common failure due to the single o-ring.
I would shine a light at it to ensure that is the leak.
Other common leak point is the radiator seams. So look all along that for evidence as well.
Thanks Senix, that is helpful. First thing I looked at was radiator tanks/seams. Couldn't see anything there. It almost seems to be a cold leak when it sits, as it is always dry when I park it. Will get the hose for replacement. Thanks again.
