my 2001 XLT only has 45k miles..turned on rear wiper yesterday and ...nothing. Just curious how anyone would go about troubleshooting on this one. My Haynes manual only has info on the front wiper motor replacement, nothing on rear. Can it be the motor already? i hardly even use the rear wiper.... could it be the switch on the column? i wouldnt think that would go already either... thoughts? thanks!
Same problem on my 2000. The rear wiper works when it feals like it (usually on sunny days). I found if I get out and move the wiper a bit sometimes it starts working again. I spoke to the local Ford service center and of course they have never heard of this problem

You needed to speak to a technician, not a service writer who started working there two weeks ago. Its only been a problem for about 6 or 7 years.
