What is the word out there about the future of the "Ex"? One web site says they are going to discontinue this vehicle, then another website shows the 05 Ex's. Are they going to change the look to that of the new HD Ford trucks? I'm debating whether to get an 05 or wait for a new look.
How does an EX compare to a Suburban?
Your guess is as good as anybodies...They've said for a couple years that 2004 would be the last year, but now they hung it around through 2005. Latest I've heard is that it is all up in the air for 2006, one possibility is that they go to diesel only and keep it around. *shrug* dunno.
As far as comparisons to the Suburban/Yukon XL...in a nutshell, it is bigger and better. Inside and outside. The V10 is plenty powerful, and you can't even GET a diesel in a Sub, fuggitaboutit.
In any case, I wouldn't count on a new look, but anything is possible, I suppose.
Yuk. The grill makes it look a big, plastic pig snout. When I ride some little CRX/Rav4/Escape/Liberty-'s *** that's only doing 70 in the left lane, all I want them to see in their rear view mirror is big gaping maw of chrome and black, right before they scurry their 0.4x4 over to the right lane.
The headlights are okay, but IMHO that look is for something sleek-looking, not a big, fat X.
I did see an '05 on dealers back lot. I really hoped that it had superduty's new coil springs on front, but it had the same leaf springs as my '03. I have gone thru 75,000 miles in 13 months with very little problem with my 6.0L 4x4, but I would like to see a better ride and shorter turning radius. Other than that, it is what it is, a diesel heavy duty truck that pulls my boat way to fast and hauls enough sales samples thru five southern states to pay the bills.
I saw an 05' EB edition Ex the other day. The front grille changed, but the inside gauges are the same as my 2003 Superduty. Sticker price was almost 52K.
I think that the new 05 "X" front end looks a bit weak compared to previous models. Personally would never upgrade to a '05, I have a '00 and it just looks better and a lot stronger. What do you guys think?
I agree - I don't like the new grille either.
And from what I can see - I hate the wheels. I like my '02 wheels much better. But these are only my opinions.....
