Ford County

Well I was up in what I call Ford county last night to attend there tractor pull at the fair. Its not called Ford county but I call it that because Id say over two thirds of the cars and trucks up there were Fords. Probably the result of three Ford dealers in the county at one time. Owned by one family. Today theres just one. The Ford spirit is alive and well up here. You talk about Ford trucks. Wow I never seen so many parked in one spot at one time. From the latest ones to the oldest Fords ruled there. Ford cars were the dominant car as well. You dont see that everywhere. When your in the grandstand you see lots of Ford hats and shirts. You know its Ford dominant when the announcer asks if there are any Chevy fans. Little response. Ford fans lots of noise. Down where Im at Chevy is the most popular vehicle. Not up here. I love coming up here.

i know what you mean. here around ft. wayne indiana (where the big chevy truck plant is) chevy is definately the dominant vehicle. i think one big reason around here is is because alot of people that have money go out and buy a new car or truck dont care what kind it is, but because there is a chevy plant just down the road, they want to support it. but, those are mainly the people that buy trucks just to drive around in, not to actually take off road or haul anything.

Yeh your right about that. It wouldnt look right drving to work in your superduty at the Chevy plant. Alot of them probably have one at home in a garage and drive quickly away when it gets dark so nobodty sees them. He,HE,HE. JK. The rivalry between Ford and Chevy will go on forever. Its made them both have great trucks. Competition is great. When you think about Detroit and nearby Dearborn. You think about the bowtie and the blue oval. Oh I forgot about Dodge. Sorry. Long live the big 3. The heck with Toyota and Nissan.

Colorado Springs and outlying areas . . . definitely Ford Truck Country. Lots of mountains, hills, country roads, contractors, horse trailers, 5th wheels, etc. Of course we all know how to do them the best and look good doing it, in a Ford Truck.

I was at an airport some time ago. I noticied that all the oddball service trucks were on a Ford chassis, some were fairly old.
