ignition switch ?
went out this morning to start my 78 4x4 (400) duraspark2, and noticed the idiot light on like the key was in the run/start position, but it was off. when i turn it to the accy. position the light stays on. when i put it in the off position the light is still on. when i go to start the idiot light dims(dead battery i assume) not even a click off the solonoid.seems like the switch to me what do you all think? appreciate any feedback

It could also be bad diode's in the alternator causing a short which is draining your battery.
