2005 Soundproofing removed?

I just read the 2004 or 2005 post and it was mentioned that the 2005's are not going to have the soundproofing that the 2004's have in the cab. Can anyone fill me in on this? I just ordered an 05 FX4 and I am going to be pretty upset if it is not as quiet as the 04 I test drove.

It doesn't make sense to me either. The first I have heard of it was when I read the other thread. I was just wondering if anyone else had any info in this area. Thanks!

I heard they are gutting everything... The 05's will sound like you're inside a beer can... Not.....I agree why would they?

Who knows...the 04's are sounding like more of the flagship of the new design. I did read the are cutting back on whats included on the Lariat, but you can still buy them as an option.

They are looking for ways to save $$$. I read a release that says that on XLT and lower trim levels there will be less sound deadening material. Just put an aftermarket exhaust on and you won't be able to tell.

your FX4 will have the same amout as the 04, its just a little less under the hood in the XLT and down to cut costs.

Thanks for the input. I really would hate to see them cut back on the quality of what appears to be a great truck. The only reason that I am getting an 05 instead of an 04 is that I hope some of the first year glitches are worked out.

Sorry to scare you with my earlier post about removing the soundproofing -- the Lariat and FX4 shouldn't lose it. Ford is cutting costs in other areas too, but I think the Lariat and FX4 shouldn't be affected too much by these changes. If somebody's considering an XLT or lower it becomes significant, but you should be fine.

These are all economic decisions by Ford, which I thought was the obvious answer to everyone asking "Why would Ford ever do such a thing?????" They gotta make lots of money just like us.
