Reason: spelling
Did you hook up the Throttle valve cable? If you didn't, you don't need to drive this truck at all till it is connected and adjusted properly or it will not shift at all.
Also check your tranny fluid with the truck warm and idling in park, make sure it is completely topped off.
Post more info and we'll be able to help you better.
The specification for a mechanical linkage and cable type found in cars with the AOD where noted.
So with that said, the adjustment for the TV linkage (Mechanical Rod Type Linkage)is.
Back out linkage lever adjusting screw all the way.
Turn the adjusting screw until a thin (shim 0.005 max) or peice of writing paper fits snugly between end of screw and throttle lever.
To eliminate the effect of friction push linkage lever foreward (tending to close gap) and release before checking clearence between end of screw and throttle lever. Do not apply any load on levers with tools or hands while checking gap.
For Cable style setups:
Make sure your throttle lever is at its idle stop. If it isn't check for binding or interference. (Do not adjust the thottle stop!)
And check the cable for kinks, sharp points or anything else that could cause it to bind.
Sorry about the info on the cable setup, but thats all it says in my manual.
Hope this helps!
I've never seen an adjustment on there when i had mine. I cursed it every day i drove it. I think the best idea if this doesn't cure it, Tow the truck to them and tell them to adjust it for you, they will know how. If this doesn't cure it it might be best to just pull the trans and have it rebuilt.
Trying to drive it there, will only damage the tranny worse, and make it have to be rebuilt.
c6 is the most beefy of the two and will withstand a lot more abuse than the c4.
The c4 won't hold up as long, unless it is given a performance build or upgraded to take the punishment. They will last, but not as long as a c6, and will not take the abuse that a c6 will in stock form.
Personally i'd go with the c6, its factory stronger, can be shifted manually, and will not blink when you throw a serious load at it.
